It may be the most magical time of the year and Christmas might be enjoyed by everyone around the globe, but no matter how special you might make the festive period for your children, it's still not guaranteed that they're going to be happy.
For the most part, this isn't down to anything you've done on purpose, but more for the fact that children can become bored very quickly and to ensure that your children remain as entertained as possible at Christmas, you need to put yourself in their shoes, taking yourself back to how you were when you were their age.

It might be easier for you to try and do everything yourself and you might think that it's the better option letting them play with their presents, but if you can involve them on Christmas Day in some way - maybe by laying the table or tidying up a little - you'll be extending their enjoyment and interest in their toys. So for example, if they were to play with one toy for 12 hours straight, you could stretch this to 15 hours by having them help you during Christmas. Defining what makes a child happy at Christmas depends largely on their age, but it can be easy to believe that you should just go by one simple rule - the more toys, the better. But what about a new born baby? Would they be happy with masses of cuddly toys or toys that they can't actually play with? Sure, they may look good, but it's not practical and the baby won't be any happier with the toys that they receive than they were without them. And it's with children of a young age like this where you need to be looking at what would actually make the child happy - warm, soft clothes or a more comfortable cot mattress are both examples of baby products which are likely to increase the happiness of a young baby.
Keeping children happy at Christmas might seem like an easy feat, but it can in fact be difficult, especially if you don't plan properly. Give them enough presents to keep them occupied, don't let them play with them all at once and make sure that they're actually going to make them happy, however and you should be well on the way to ensuring that your child is as happy as possible at Christmas.
